On Saturday, June 19, 2021, Nicole Harris established a retail safe zone for emerging black-owned brands. This company was named Merge to represent the collection of valuable things sold in one place. Harris has always had a vision of collaboration. While finding her purpose in life Harris was able to step out on faith in 2021 and start the Merge Co. empire in Phipps Plaza Mall in Atlanta, GA.
The 2020 global pandemic inspired major changes. One of these changes was the recognition of the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States on June 19. In 2021 the federal government officially labeled Juneteenth (June 19) as a national holiday after almost 160 years. What makes this day so special is that it marks an important day in history since it was once not even recognized.
Merge Co. features a wide variety of black-owned brands from clothing, accessories, furniture, and fine fragrance. These brands aren’t just manufactured in the United States but some are handmade in the continent of Africa. Featured brands include Nappy Head Club, James King, Gozel Green, Custardy, Iammi, Laville, Uptown Yardie, Latela and so much more. In addition to bringing light to black excellence, Harris features brands inside the Merge.Co Magazine and goes more in-depth about the story behind the creators. She also allows brands to host pop shops in her boutique. Want to know more about Merge or interested in merging? Visit mergeco.shop
