What does your Brand represent? (Purpose): -The enrichment of oneself living rich by way of knowledge, spirituality, financially, and emotionally.
How did you start? Where did your idea come from? (Details):-The brand started with a group of friends at a party. We all got matching shirts to look uniform for the party. Once the party ended people began to inquire about purchasing them. From then the brand was created and began creating more designs and offering various products. The actual name of the company came from my friend Quinnell Stanciel who is no longer here with us. May his legacy live on through the brand.
Who or What inspired you during the process of starting your Brand?:- In the beginning, I did not have any inspiration due to my lack of knowledge in the fashion industry. Once I began to take the business seriously and wanted to expand the brand I began doing my research on similar brands. I look up to Damon John the creator of FUBU also I look up to T the creator of the exclusive game based out of Atlanta.
What challenges did you face in the starting process and along the way?: -Challenges lol where do I start? I have been faced with plenty. From losing my manufacturing connection a year into starting the business, then having my laptop in Atlanta on a business trip which had all my designs on it. Another challenge I faced were the gatekeepers of Saint Louis not believing in the brand and not helping to connect me to celebrities when they came into town. Being scammed by a PR company didn’t help me expand my brand. Dealing with flaky models during photoshoots, etc.
What were your expectations in the beginning and what are your expectations now?: -In the beginning, I expected to be global and sell the brand to major retailers around the world. Now I expect to tell my story to as many people as possible and hopefully inspire new upcoming designers to continue to be great through the diversities that shall arise on their journey.
Where can we purchase ?: -The gear may be purchased online at www.bplrclothing.com
